ZANZIBAR TOURIST CORPORATION (ZTC) is a Government parastatal which is an operational arm in tourism for various functions on both Unguja and Pemba Islands. It was established in 1965 under the name of Tanzania friendship Tourist Bureau (TFTB), and became the first and sole institution to deal with tourism activities in the Island, Established by the Zanzibar Revolutionary Government. In 1985 following the development and expansion of commercial tourism in Zanzibar, TFTB was transformed to Zanzibar Tourist Corporation in order to deal particularly with tourism business and activities in Zanzibar.
